Silver-gray metallic is an iron ore which is iron oxide (like Hematite). Marcasite is iron sulfide. One of the most grounding of all stones (Root Chakra.) Marcasite - Sparkling Renaissance
About marcasite: Marcasite is a white iron pyrite and is very breakable, hence it is used in small pin points to add sparkle to items of jewelry. It was hugely popular during the 18th and 19th Centuries but its use has declined since World War II. This decline is beginning to be reversed and it is becoming more and more popular.

Something That Sparkles use marcasite extensively, particularly alongside gems like garnet, peridot, amethyst etc. where it can turn a nice piece of jewelry into something amazing to behold. Marcasite is not a strong stone and care should be taken when handling and, especially, storing it.

Marcasite also holds deep set healing offerings. It is a stone that can help greatly in the treatment of abnormalities of the red blood cells, especially sickle cell anemia. A stone that helps the bodies organs attract and gain the healthy amount of normal red blood cells to sustain a more balanced life.

The most unusual feature of this pendant is that it opens up to reveal 3 separate openings for cherished pictures. It measures 5/8" x 7/8", not including the ring from which it hangs. It is marked 925 for 925/1000 sterling and of very nice weight for size.

This listing is for 20 Swiss marcasite stone beads. This is a metallic stone and is cut round but rough and unpolished. Not shiny at all. You can polish them with a silver cloth or toothpaste if you wish. The color is dark antic silver with typical tinny black spot inclusions. The diameter is 6 millimeter and you will receive 20 of these unusual beads. Mixes well with most colors except very dark. Sterling Silver beads I think are the perfect match.
