Whenever you receive stones, you will need to cleanse them.  This can be done in a few different ways.  Smudging, which is sage that you burn and pass the stone through the smoke several times.  Natural spring water, you can buy this in the grocery store where the waters are, pour it over the stone and imagine the stone eliminating all of the energy it has absorbed from other people.  And lastly, place a stone in sea salt, make sure to be careful of this because all stones do not work well when doing this, the salt can erode the stone, I put a crystal glass in a bowl and surround it with sea salt, this will allow any stone to be cleansed in this manner.
